By presetting specific FineContrast mode to each application software installed to the computer, the ScreenManager Pro for LCD changes the FineContrast mode automatically in response to start up/ switch to the registered application software.

Applicable FineContrast modes are the same of monitor and "WindowMovie", which is specially provided by the software.

In the "WindowMovie" mode, the brightness of overlay window area can be controlled separately.

If the monitor supports C-Booster function, it is available to specify the area of applying the function

C-Booster area setup is only available if the monitor supports the function and set to either "Mode 1" or "Mode 2".  

3-1. Auto FineContrast Tab

 

[Activate Auto FineContrast]
Check to activate Auto FineContrast function.

[Application Registration]
[Application Selection]
Select an application to activate Auto FineContrast.
[FineContrast mode for selected application]
Assign a FineContrast mode for the selected application.
[If unregistered application starts up, apply]
Assign a fixed FineContrast mode for other applications those are not registered any specific FineContrast mode.

[Allow independent mode switching by screen]
This option is available when connecting two or more monitors with the system. 
If this option is checked, the FineContrast mode changes for the monitor of application-activated. Other monitor screen(s) does not change the FineContrast mode.
[Set priority for WindowMovie/Viewer mode] 
Checking this option enables the monitor to remain in "WindowMovie" mode.  Even when choosing another application, the monitor does not change FineContrast mode
Closing of the video application re-activates Auto FineContrast.

The Auto FineContrast function requires the ScreenManager Pro for LCD setting icon is resident on the task bar. 

3-2. Allocating the FineContrast Modes

Select an application from pulldown menu.
2.
Assign a FineContrast mode for the selected application.

To adjust the color settings according to your preference
sRGB
The mode applies to the sRGB standard. It provides the color matching environment with other peripherals of sRGB compliant.
CAL
The mode only for calibration software.
DICOM-CL
Suitable for Clear Base X-ray film.
DICOM-BL
Suitable for Blue Base X-ray film.
External
It reproduces the color coordinates and gamma settings of the monitor by [Emulation] function of the "Color Adjustment".
Viewer For use in DesktopViewer software only
WindowMovie
It brightens the contents area within the video application window. It is suitable for using an e-mail or a word processing application while playing videos on DVD or TV brightly .

Each FineContrast mode availability depends on the models.

"Viewer" and "WindowMovie" modes are only available with ScreenManager Pro for LCD.

User color data which is registered in the "Color Adjustment" tab is also available as a mode of AutoFineContrast function.

If assigning either "WindowMovie" or "Viewer" mode, click [Luminance] button and control the brightness of display erea except the overlay window.
If assigning either "Movie", "Picture", "Custom" or "WindowMovie" with C-Booster supported monitor, click [C-Booster] button and specify the target area.

Click [Register] to register the configuration.

5.
To change the configuration, repeat the process.

The [Allow independent mode switching by screen] check box will only be active while two or more monitors are connected to the system.

No FineContrast modes can be assigned for Windows desktop.

 

3-3. Window Movie Mode

WindowMovie mode is one of the FineContrast modes, which is available only in the ScreenManager Pro for LCD.  The WindowMovie mode can show an overlay window (videos) with higher contrast. This mode is suitable for watching DVDs and TV.  The brightness of area outside overlay window (videos) can be controlled separately (refer to the following picture). While displaying videos (DVD or TV) brighter, the DTP or e-mail software can be displayed with normal brightness.

 

Using Spreadsheet Software while playing DVD with Higher Brightness

(1)
Select the "WindowMovie" mode from the [FineContrast mode for selected application].
(2)
Click the [Luminance] button, which is active for the WindowMovie mode.
(3)
The [Luminance] bar appears and can be used to control the brightness of the area outside overlay window.

More than two video applications (such as "Window Media player" and "Quick Time Player") cannot be displayed with high brightness at the same time. 
*
WindowMovie mode may not work with some movie file.
*
Gamma correction, Direct Draw and Direct Draw Overlay functions are required for the graphics board to activate the WindowMovie mode. Run checker application from the menu window of the CD-ROM to confirm that your graphic board meets these functions.

 

3-4. C-Booster

C-Booster is a function to detect the brightness or darkness of the displayed image and raise the contrast of the frequent gradation area. In the ScreenManager Pro for LCD, the function -applyed area can be set.

Select either "Movie", "Picture", "Custom" or "WindowMovie" mode from the [FineContrast mode for selected application].
(2)
Click the [C-Booster] button, which is active for the selected mode.
(3)
Select the area for C-Booster according to the software instruction.
